Eligibility.
Have you been assessed for a HCP? It’s a fairly simple process, but it can be confusing if you aren’t familiar with it. Our friendly team of care experts can help guide you through the process with My Aged Care (MAC). They will help you find out if you’re eligible for funding, and explain the steps to get assessed for some care at home.
How much does it cost?
The cost of help at home is dependent on the funding you’re available for and whether you are assessed as having to pay something called the ‘Income Tested Fee’. If you are eligible for a HCP and are a self-funded retiree or on the part pension, you might have to contribute to the funding of your HCP. For more information on this, feel free to give our team a call on 1300 203 903.
How to Switch.
Switching to myHomecare is easy! Our expert team does it all for you. You just have to let us know who your current Provider is, when you would like to switch and to reactivate your Referral Code with MAC. Our team can guide you through the process and make it a seamless transition for you and your care team.
How to get your local care support started.
Want to get your care assistance started with our qualified and friendly team? It’s easy. Follow these simple steps to get started with myHomecare.

Reach out
Tell our expert team a little more about your unique situation. If you already have a package, you can skip ahead to ‘Start your care’, but if you need some guidance about available funding give us a call today on 1300 203 903 for more information.

Get assessed
To be eligible for funding you need to do an assessment with a service called MAC. The team will do both an assessment over the phone and a face to face assessment to work out what funding you may be able to receive. They will ask you questions about your living situation, family, health needs and more to determine your eligibility for some help at home. We can also assist you with this process and give you tips along the way.

Get approval
My Aged Care will then notify you about what programs you can receive to help you at home. These programs include HCP, the Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP) and more. They will generally give you an estimated wait time and you will be required to do some research while you wait for your funding to come through.

Start your care
Once you receive your package you can start your care with us! Our expert team will help identify the types of services you require to meet your care needs and we will ensure they are delivered by an expert team you trust. With us, you’re in safe hands to receive the care you need from an experienced team who cares.

FAQs.
The HCP is a subsidised program designed to help older Australians live at home independently for longer. You receive a pool of funding to be spent on catered supports to match your individual needs. There are four different levels of funding you can be assessed for: Level 1, 2, 3 and 4.
Conversations about needing some help can be difficult ones to start. However if you are finding that your parents need some help at home, it doesn’t need to be a scary chat. Find a time to sit down and discuss what they are finding harder to do at home, find a time when you’re loved one is calm and listen with no judgement. There are lots of support options available to ease your parents into some support at home. We recommend chatting to our friendly Care Experts about options that might suit your parents, and easing them into the process gently.
